Plans and pricing
Plans are metered on translation keys: the individual pieces of text you manage, never on words, languages or reviewers. Pay for the AI with credits, included in every paid plan, or connect your own Claude, OpenAI, Gemini or DeepSeek account and the AI itself is free on TextSetu.

What you pay for, and who you pay
Bring your own key
Prepaid credits
What bring your own key means
You paste your own provider API key into TextSetu. Every run then goes through your account, and the model charges land on your provider's invoice. TextSetu adds nothing to them.
Bring your own key means you open an account with an AI provider (Claude, OpenAI, Gemini or DeepSeek) and paste that account's API key into TextSetu. Every translation then runs through your account, so the model charges land on your provider's invoice rather than on ours. TextSetu adds nothing to them. A worked example: your team imports a product with 4,000 lines of English copy and translates it into French. TextSetu sends only the lines that need translating, with your glossary and brand voice attached. Your provider bills you for exactly those calls, at the published rate you already agreed with them, and you can watch the number move on their dashboard while the run is happening. TextSetu charges nothing for it, during early access or after.
What credits are
Prepaid balance, for when you would rather not run a provider account. Each run draws it down by what the models actually cost, plus a published margin. Never per word, and you can switch to your own key whenever you like.
A credit is prepaid balance you spend on AI translation when you would rather not run your own provider account. You top up, TextSetu pays the provider on your behalf, and each run draws down your balance by what the models actually cost plus a published margin. Credits are never charged per word, they do not expire while your account is open, and you can switch to your own key at any time and stop buying them.
The current credit rate is published at the point of purchase, before you spend anything.
Every limit, side by side
The same numbers as above, plus the ones that only matter once you are using it in earnest.

Questions people ask before they start
What does it cost?
Plans start at $0 and run $39, $99 and $249 a month, metered on translation keys rather than words, so a long sentence costs the same as a short one, and adding a language adds nothing. Every paid plan includes AI credits, and if you connect your own Claude, OpenAI, Gemini or DeepSeek account the AI itself is free: you pay that provider directly, at their rate.
Where does our content go?
To the AI provider you choose, through your own account and under your own agreement with them. Our sub-processors and security posture are published.
Do we need an engineer?
To import a file and run a language, no. To connect your repo and automate it, about an hour of one engineer's time, once.
Which AI models can we use?
Claude, OpenAI, Gemini and DeepSeek, ranked per language, with automatic fallback. Switch whenever a better one ships.
Can we get our content back out?
Yes, in the same format you imported, plus TMX, a standard file any other translation tool can open. No export fees, no notice period.
How long does setup take?
Most teams import, run their first language and approve their first drafts in an afternoon.
