Acceptable Use Policy

What you may and may not do with TextSetu, including limits specific to AI translation.

Last updated 2026-07-28

This policy forms part of our Terms of Service and applies to everyone who uses TextSetu.

Do not break the law

Do not use TextSetu to store, generate, transmit or process anything unlawful in a jurisdiction that applies to you or to us, including content that infringes intellectual property, breaches export controls or sanctions, or violates data protection law.

Do not misuse the AI engine

Because TextSetu routes requests to third-party AI providers, misusing the engine can breach both our terms and theirs. Do not use it to:

  • generate content that sexualises minors, incites violence, or harasses or defames a person;
  • generate deceptive content intended to impersonate a real person or organisation, or to interfere with an election;
  • produce or refine material designed to defraud, phish or distribute malware;
  • circumvent a provider's safety systems, including by prompt injection or by splitting a prohibited request across runs;
  • extract, distil or reverse engineer the underlying models, or use outputs to train a competing model;
  • resell raw model access dressed up as translation.

You are responsible for reviewing AI output before you publish it.

Do not upload data you should not

Do not upload personal data you have no lawful basis to process. TextSetu is not designed for, and must not be used to store, special category data under GDPR Article 9, payment card numbers, government identifiers, or health records.

Do not attack or overload the service

Do not attempt to gain unauthorised access, probe or scan our infrastructure without written permission, circumvent rate limits or quotas, run automated traffic that degrades the service for others, or use another person's credentials.

Responsible security research is welcome under the terms on our Security page.

Do not misuse other people's access

Do not share credentials, grant yourself permissions you were not given, or use the audit log and activity feed to monitor colleagues in ways their employer has not authorised.

Enforcement

If we believe this policy has been breached we may remove content, suspend or terminate access, and where necessary notify authorities. We will give notice where practicable and act immediately where the risk requires it. If you think we have acted in error, email hello@textsetu.com.

Reporting

Report abuse or security issues to hello@textsetu.com, or use any address on our Contact page.
