Who we are

About TextSetu

“Setu” means bridge. TextSetu is an AI translation platform built by three people who wanted machine translation to respect the terminology, voice and reviewers a team already has, instead of quietly working around them.

Why we built it

Calling a model is easy. Shipping what it returns is not. Raw output ignores the vocabulary your product depends on, the voice your brand spent years building, and the people who are accountable for what goes live. Teams end up moving strings between a chat window and a spreadsheet, and finding the wrong word in production.

So we built the part that was missing. Every request goes through one reusable, organisation-wide engine: your glossary and translation memory at the highest precedence, brand voice and per-language rules above the model's own judgment, a ranked fallback chain across Claude, OpenAI, Gemini and DeepSeek underneath, and an optional reviewer model that scores the result before a human sees it.

What it drafts lands where your team already works: a review queue, an audit trail, a branch you can diff before merging. The AI does the typing. Your team keeps the decisions.

How we work

Four commitments that decide what we build, and what we leave alone.

Grounded, not guessing

Your glossary and translation memory outrank the model. Only the terms that actually appear in the source string are injected, so prompts stay small and the output stays on-brand.

Humans keep the final say

AI drafts arrive as proposals in a review queue, marked as AI-generated, with a record of what produced a value and who approved it. Nothing ships behind your back.

Plain about what we are

Early access, free, and an independent project rather than a company. Our security page lists what we have not done yet alongside what we have.

Your keys, your costs

Bring your own provider key and translation is free and unmetered. Use ours and you spend a prepaid balance at published prices, with every run pre-flighted before it starts.

The people behind it

Three co-founders, and no support desk in between. Write to any of us and one of us answers.

Where we are today

TextSetu is in early access and free while it is. It is an independent project rather than an incorporated company, so there is no company number or registered office to give you. We would rather state that plainly than leave you searching. Our legal documents set out who operates the service, how your data is handled and who else processes it.

Try it on your own strings

Free during early access. Import the files you already maintain and see what the engine does once your glossary is applied.
