# TextSetu

> TextSetu is a translation management platform (TMS) that brings developers, translators and reviewers into one collaborative workspace. "Setu" means "bridge": it bridges content across every language and connects everyone who works on it.

TextSetu is free while in early access. The app runs in the browser. Sign-in supports email/password and SSO with Google, GitHub, GitLab and Bitbucket. The platform UI is available in English, German, Spanish, French and Hindi.

- **Translation editor**: A fast, spreadsheet-style grid with inline editing, plurals, tag filtering and live status across every language at once.
- **Translation memory (TM)**: Approved translations are stored as reusable segments; fuzzy matches (>=75%) are suggested so the same sentence is never translated twice and wording stays consistent.
- **Glossary and QA**: Define brand vocabulary once. Do-not-translate protection for brand and product names, forbidden-term checks, and preferred-term suggestions while translating.
- **Approval workflows**: Enable approvals per project. Translator edits become proposals that wait in a review queue until an approver accepts or rejects them. Every action is recorded in the audit history.
- **Branching and merge**: Branch translations like code. Draft new keys and overrides safely, compare the diff against main, and merge when ready.

- **Outdated detection**: When a source string changes, every dependent translation is automatically flagged as outdated so nothing drifts out of sync.

- **Roles and teams**: Granular, multi-role access across organizations, projects and teams.
- **20+ file formats**: Import and export JSON, nested JSON, CSV, XLIFF, Android XML, Apple .strings, .xcstrings, Gettext PO, YAML, ARB, i18next, RESX, Qt .ts, .properties, INI, Excel, TMX, xmb/xtb and more, with round-trip fidelity.

## Common questions

- **Is it free?** Yes, completely free during early access. Paid plans will come later as the product matures, with notice before any pricing changes.
- **Do I need to change my codebase?** No. Import the localization files you already have and export back to the exact same format. TextSetu fits around your stack.
- **How does translation memory save time?** Every approved translation becomes a reusable segment; when a similar source string appears, TextSetu suggests the stored translation with a match score so you never retranslate the same content.
- **Can I control who approves translations?** Yes. Enable approvals per project and assign approver roles; edits become proposals in a review queue until an approver accepts them.
